The only thing warmer than the fireplace is the welcome.
G’day!
The Royal Mail has been standing on Wallace Street since 1891 - yup, it’s old.
We've seen gold rushes, bushrangers, movie stars, floods, droughts and just about every questionable character that country NSW could throw at you.
The Royal has been here for ages, but the owner hasn’t.
The pub has recently changed hands to Dave - a builder from the “big smoke,” honouring his country roots, his love of a cold drink and a yarn (like the ball of string… some days it never ends).
Dave and the team at The Royal Mail Hotel in Braidwood are slowly revamping the place, whilst still keeping its vintage features and charming atmosphere.
All you need to worry about is if the staff remember your usual before you've even sat down.
(They probably will.)
This isn’t just a pub, it’s a character,
a full-on larrikin.
We don't do strangers - just regulars we haven't met yet.

Whether you’re a local or just passing through, nothing hits quite like a drink in a place that feels like home.
At the Royal Mail Hotel, we want you to feel like a regular, even if we only just met. Pull up a stool and tell us your story.
Best seat in the house
A toasty fire is always on in the wintery months.
Whether it’s in our dining room, the beer garden, main bar or games room, The Royal Mail Hotel has the perfect spot to relax, unwind and enjoy some food and drinks with your mates.
We have the only bottle shop in town that’s open past 7pm!
You read right. This is a quiet country town and most places are closed by the time dinner rolls around.
Our bottle shop is open from until 10pm and is filled with cold beers and ciders, liquor and wine.
